The main purpose of this role is to provide the Quality and Food Safety Governance on shift. Ensuring a fully functioning laboratory on shift that delivers the testing compliance required to maintain good quality, safe food right first time.
Shiftly calibration of all analytical equipment (lab & factory)
Identifying trends in the faults being seen and taking appropriate action to resolve.
Training of the LGO and LGSOs on analytical methods, SOPs and SWPs relevant to lab.
Validation and proficiency testing
Scoping and raising of the hold & release process on shift
Approval of on shift Quality & Food Safety Checks
Cleaning verification and sign off post sanitation activities
Conducting lab tests for Finished Product compliance
80% utilised by Standard Lab tasks (Oil / Salts / Moisture checks)
Ensuring FL710/S9 weekly/monthly proficiency checks are completed
Troubleshoot basic instrument malfunctions or escalate where necessary
Support with weekly/monthly instrument proficiency checks in the absence of the Laboratory Specialist and pipeline
Take ownership of CQA sample analysis
20% utilised Quality Control activities:
Post-A-Level qualification (BSc; Btech or Food Tech) or > experience working in a WSF quality or Lab role.
Experience in training including delivering and facilitating training packages
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Background in Food Quality & Food Safety Standards
Qualification in Food Quality/Hygiene (desirable but not mandatory)
Excellent IT skills
Leadership skills
Strong Team worker and contributor.
Flexible, ‘can do,’ attitude to role and duties.
Results driven and understands the link between action/results, inputs/outputs.
Ability to influence others
