Role Overview
The Sales Manager - Home drives market-level sales strategy and growth while coordinating multiple showroom locations. This role ensures strong sales performance, operational excellence, and a high-quality customer experience. Partnering with field leadership, this leader incorporates customer insights into go-to-market strategies, segmentation, and sales coverage plans to support revenue and margin growth. They lead and develop Showroom teams, maintain key vendor and customer relationships, and support locations without dedicated leadership. Success in this role requires strong business insight, leadership, and a focus on results, team development, and a culture of engagement and safety.

Reports to Senior General Manager
Direct oversight of Outside Sales Representatives, Account Managers, and Designated Showroom Managers
Position can be based out of Long Island
Market opportunity of 400M within the builder space
Responsibilities
Drive market share growth and achieve sales and gross margin targets across assigned markets and showroom locations
Complete long-term sales strategies, identify new business opportunities, and optimize market coverage and customer segmentation
Lead daily sales execution across teams, including customer meetings, business reviews, and joint sales calls
Monitor sales performance, market trends, pricing strategies, and customer behavior to inform decisions and get results
Ensure alignment of sales, marketing, and customer experience strategies to position Ferguson as the “Best Local Showroom”
Coordinate showroom operations, including staffing, scheduling, training, displays, and adherence to brand standards
Develop, mentor, and support sales and showroom teams, including succession planning and talent development
Maintain strong vendor, customer, and internal partnerships to drive sales, product knowledge, and collaboration
Lead with a safety-first approach, ensuring compliance and safe practices across all locations
Resolve advanced customer issues and maintain a high level of customer happiness and retention
Complete corporate initiatives, drive process improvements, and ensure consistent market-level adoption
Support smaller or under-resourced locations to ensure consistent performance across all showrooms
Communicate priorities, performance results, and strategy through regular team meetings and leadership forums
Partner with leadership and HR to hire, develop, and retain high-performing teams and future leaders
Act as a key partner to GMs and senior leaders, providing expertise and driving execution of showroom strategy
Qualifications
5–7+ years of sales, retail, or showroom experience, with at least 2–3 years in a management or leadership role preferred
Proven track record of achieving sales, profitability, and P&L targets
Strong business insight, including planning for growth and sales/performance forecasting
Ability to identify customer needs and deliver effective solutions that drive growth
Demonstrated leadership skills emphasizing mentoring, developing, and motivating teams
Effective communicator with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Excel and standard business tools
Willingness to travel within the market with occasional overnight stays

Pay Range:
$9,540.00 - $20,790.00
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
