Bureau Veritas Saudi Arabia is seeking a qualified Firestop Inspector to support Building & Infrastructure projects across the Kingdom. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting firestop installations, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, UL-listed firestop systems, applicable codes and standards, and project specifications.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of passive fire protection systems, inspection practices, QA/QC procedures, and construction quality standards.
Review and interpret approved drawings, specifications, UL-listed firestop systems, and relevant codes and standards.
Verify proper selection and installation of approved firestop materials in accordance with project requirements.
Inspect firestop installations to ensure compliance with approved systems, manufacturer requirements, and project specifications.
Guide contractors and site personnel on the proper execution of firestop works.
Conduct routine inspections and identify non-conformities, defects, and deviations.
Prepare and submit Work Inspection Requests (WIRs).
Participate in consultant and client inspections and support the closure of inspection comments.
Ensure support systems and related fabrications are installed according to approved drawings and standards.
Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
Coordinate with project teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure compliance and quality requirements.
UL Firestop Inspector Certification.
Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in firestop inspection, installation, QA/QC, or passive fire protection works on construction projects.
Strong understanding of firestop systems and fire-rated assemblies.
Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and construction quality management systems.
Familiarity with MEP penetrations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and low-current systems.
Good knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessment, and safety management systems.
Strong inspection, reporting, communication, and coordination skills.
Experience in inspecting:
Fire-rated walls
Fire-rated floors
Shaft walls
Expansion joints
Curtain wall perimeter fire barriers
Knowledge of:
Firestop materials and systems
UL-listed firestop assemblies
Passive fire protection requirements
Construction quality standards and inspection procedures
