Location: Kazakhstan, Almaty Department: Engineering Reporting to: Engineering Manager
We are looking for a Project Engineer to manage projects involving the installation of new production and engineering equipment and the modernization of existing equipment, utilities and infrastructure.
In this role, you will oversee projects from initial feasibility assessment through commissioning and capitalization, ensuring delivery within the approved scope, schedule and budget. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, global functions, contractors and equipment suppliers while maintaining JTI’s safety, quality and environmental standards.
Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, technical specifications and supporting documentation
Manage engineering projects in line with technical requirements, internal policies and capital expenditure procedures
Collect and analyse technical and financial information for project feasibility studies
Prepare preliminary plans, technical calculations and equipment selection proposals
Coordinate procurement activities and cooperate with contractors, engineering service providers and equipment suppliers
Monitor project schedules, budgets, cash flow, commissioning and capitalization dates
Maintain project and equipment data in SAP
Prepare regular project status reports and financial forecasts
Ensure project activities comply with occupational health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
Manage and report capital investments in accordance with annual and strategic investment plans
Identify and implement engineering best practices to improve equipment efficiency and production performance
Evaluate changes in equipment energy consumption and support accurate energy planning
Maintain the factory equipment database and relevant technical documentation
Cooperate with Global Engineering, Global Procurement, Global Logistics, Global Finance and Global Quality
Ensure compliance with applicable local legislation and ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 requirements
Higher technical or engineering education
At least three years of experience in an engineering or technical position
Fluent Kazakh and Russian
Advanced English
Strong project management and leadership skills
Knowledge of project design, budgeting, reporting and technical calculation methods
Understanding of local engineering legislation, regulations and standards
Knowledge of production equipment, technological processes and process flow diagrams
Experience preparing and interpreting drawings and technical documentation
Intermediate AutoCAD skills, including equipment relocation, pipelines, walls, layers and copying between drawings
Experience with SAP Enterprise Asset Management and Plant Maintenance modules
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
Knowledge of occupational health and safety, industrial sanitation, environmental protection and fire safety requirements
Strong communication, planning and stakeholder-management skills
Ability to manage several priorities and deliver results within agreed deadlines
