CAE Advisory - Executive Partner

Executive Partner, Business Services – Chief Audit Executive (CAE)

About this role:

What makes Gartner a GREAT fit for you? When you join Gartner, you’ll be part of a fast-growing team that helps the world become smarter and more connected. We’re the world’s leading research and advisory company, achieving consistent double-digit growth by steering clients toward the right decisions with business and technology insights they can’t find anywhere else. Here you’ll enjoy a collaborative work environment supporting some of the best organizations in the world. If you like working with a curious, supportive, high-performing team, then Gartner is the place for you.

When you join the Gartner Executive Partner for Chief Audit Executive team, you will experience a high-performance work environment within a company that knows no limits. Gartner Executive Partners serve as trusted advisors to our clients, who are Chief Audit Executives from organizations across all industries. This is a brand new product and a very exciting time to join the organization. About this role: Our clients, Chief Audit Executives or the senior-most individuals responsible for Internal Audit, find themselves challenged with the pace of change impacting the Audit function and their respective organizations as companies continue to adapt and shift their business models to move faster and grow their companies in a rapidly evolving risk environment. With the support of their Executive Partner, our Gartner for CAE clients more adeptly align their audit priorities to the organization’s most critical objectives and deliver the assurance needed to help the organization more confidently achieve its objectives and manage risks. As an Executive Partner, you will have the opportunity to deliver solutions for the most critical audit and oversight challenges facing companies across all industries.

Partnering with our clients means that no two days are the same; you could be supporting the development of the overall audit department strategy and long-term vision, providing recommendations on assessing audit department productivity and capacity and creating performance metrics and budgets, advising on the audit function’s effective use of technology (including AI), or helping the CAE increase audit’s impact on the business. Clients will also look to you for advice and support on working more closely with the Audit Committee and the broader Board, CEO, and the rest of the management team on critical business goals and risks, communicating the value of the audit function, and establishing effective governance and oversight processes. You will support clients as they work to provide assurance over emerging risks to the company and support the Audit Committee in performing their oversight role. Gartner for CAE EPs serve as accountability partners through delivery of Gartner research insights and personal experiences/expertise on key initiatives, priorities, and strategies of their CAE clients.

What You’ll Do

• Provide executive advisory services to CAE members who work across all industries and business models.

• Synthesize Gartner insights and data to deliver world class advisory support through ongoing bi-weekly client engagement and periodic client working sessions. The ability and willingness to operate independently to adapt materials fit for client use is required.

• Host, facilitate, and/or participate in periodic client activities, including working sessions to develop strategy, peer roundtables, sessions and client meetings at the annual conference and virtual webinars. These activities may be delivered virtually or on-site depending on circumstance.

• Define and deliver innovative solutions by assessing client needs and developing a customized value plan in accordance with overall Executive Program strategy and product deliverables.

• Facilitate member interaction and peer collaboration through the Gartner for Audit member community portal and assisted member connections.

• Work as a collaborative Gartner team member serving clients in conjunction with Client Support Professionals and Account Executives.

• Participate in all phases of the client lifecycle: pre-sale, on-boarding, relationship management, delivery, review, and renewal.

• While you will not be responsible for creating content, you will be partnering with Business and Technology Insights (BTI) Analysts to help identify potential gaps in material that is relevant and valuable to our clients.

• There will be a considerable focus on sales enablement in this role. You are responsible for client retention and for contributing to account growth through direct support of Gartner Sales Associates:

  • Working with the sales teams to help them understand the true value of the Guided Product to the client vs the Self-Directed product.
  • Building their confidence and ability to effectively engage with and sell to this level of C-suite prospect.
  • Through the creation of Value Stories, enable the sales associates to bring the service to life.
  • You will be partnering with sales on account planning / development activities as well as being present in proof-of-concept (POC) engagements with prospective clients.

What You’ll Need

• The Executive Partner will ideally be an accomplished Chief Audit Executive, working with the C-suite, the Audit Committee and Board of Directors and a host of stakeholders, with a broad base of expertise who has operated at a senior leadership level and driven change at all levels.

• An in-depth understanding of the Audit function and other adjacent functions, e.g., Compliance, Legal & Risk.

• Ideally with a background across multiple industries to be able to support a wide variety of member organizations.

• Audit or Consulting Firm experience, including client relationship management, is also highly beneficial.

• Technologically savvy; our model is lean, and you’ll leverage AI and other tools to work quickly, including completing administrative tasks.

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of tools to adapt Power Points, leverage Excel Spreadsheets, and to use Word to draft client-ready materials.

• Consulting background a plus.

Who You Are
