Role and Responsibilities
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin objectives.
Lead the sales engineering team to identify, qualify, and secure high volume, long-term OEM partnership
Mentor, lead, and develop a team of regional sales engineers to drive performance
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for senior-level engineering stakeholders at major OEM partners
Oversee the technical application process-providing specialized expertise to guide clients through design qualification, reliability activities, and optimal component pairings
Identify industry trends, competitor product strengths, and emerging technological needs
Act as the internal voice of the customer to influence R&D and product roadmap decision at HQ
Work with sales, marketing teams to create compelling presentations, white papers, and proposals showcasing the total value proposition of Samsung compressor technology
Guide customers in testing and qualifying new compressors
Find business opportunities with new customers and expand market share in the residential/commercial HVAC sectors
Technical support to HVAC OEM customers during qualification and reliability activities
Assist as needed in developing the customer business case for new concept solutions
Perform detailed engineering analysis to quantify cost savings or other customer benefits
Provides daily interactions with Samsung sales, quality, R&D, and designated OEM partners
Communication channels between Korea HQ and customers during sales activities
Participate in trade show and exhibitions in connection with compressor business
Ability to travel approx. 30% domestically (OEM manufacturing and R&D sites)
Dynamic personality with great leadership, management, and sales
Possess strong analytical capabilities and ability to manage tasks associated with development projects
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
15+ years of experience in HVAC compressor sales or application engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior technical role
Experience with and understanding of compressor technology (rotary, scroll, inverter drives) and OEM HVAC system design (Heat Pump, Residential/Commercial AC)
Experience leading technical teams and managing complex, long-cycle sales processes
Professional experience and knowledge of project specifications and blueprints
Experience with ASHRAE standards and regulations
Prior experience as a leader in a team setting
Fluent in Korean and English
