Mid-Level
If you're looking to build your career working on some of New Zealand's most significant financing transactions while working across borders, this could be the role for you.
As an associate in our Auckland Finance team, you'll work alongside leading Banking and Finance partners and senior lawyers, advising local and international clients on complex and high-value financing transactions. From leveraged and property finance to project, renewables, structured and corporate finance, you'll have the opportunity to develop broad technical expertise across a diverse range of matters.
You'll take ownership of key aspects of transactions, work directly with clients and collaborate with colleagues across New Zealand and the global firm. The work is challenging, commercially sophisticated and designed to help you continue growing as a trusted adviser.
Our Finance team is recognised for advising on complex debt financing transactions for many of New Zealand's leading financial institutions. A substantial portion of our work is cross-border, giving you exposure to international markets, clients and colleagues across the global firm. You will be part of a collaborative, high-performing team that thrives on delivering exceptional results, tackling challenging matters and celebrating shared success. You'll have the opportunity to work on sophisticated transactions, develop relationships across borders and define the impact you make as your career grows.
We are looking for:
Solid transactional Banking and Finance experience (corporate, projects and real estate experience would also be considered)
Strong drafting, negotiation and matter management skills
Ability to manage transaction workstreams and deliver high-quality outcomes across multiple matters
Sound commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach to problem solving
Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to work directly with clients
A genuine desire to continue learning and developing your Banking and Finance expertise
An interest in supporting and mentoring junior lawyers and graduates
At DLA Piper, you'll have the freedom to build your own path, develop your expertise and define the impact you want to make.
