About Your New Job:
The Internal & External Communications Manager is responsible for setting and leading the company’s internal and external communications strategy to strengthen corporate reputation, drive employee engagement, support business priorities, and ensure consistent, timely, and impactful communication across all audiences.
This role provides strategic direction for corporate communications, sustainability communications, leadership communications, employee engagement campaigns, media relations, social media, internal communication platforms, and key corporate events. The role also ensures that communications, sponsorships, donations, events, and related activities are executed in line with corporate governance, compliance, data privacy, anti-bribery, and corporate affairs controls.
The Internal & External Communications Manager acts as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and business functions, translating business priorities into clear communication plans, protecting the company’s reputation, and enabling cross-functional alignment across the organization.
About Your New Job Responsibilities:
Communications Strategy & Planning
Develop and lead the annual internal and external communications strategy in line with business priorities, corporate affairs agenda, sustainability commitments, and reputation objectives.
Set clear communication priorities, messaging pillars, channel strategies, and annual communication calendars.
Translate corporate and functional priorities into strategic communication plans that drive awareness, alignment, engagement, and reputation impact.
Advise senior leadership and key functions on communication approach, message framing, timing, audience targeting, and channel selection.
Ensure all communications are aligned with corporate identity, tone of voice, brand guidelines, and business objectives.
Lead communication planning for major business milestones, strategic projects, transformation initiatives, partnerships, and corporate campaigns.
External Communications, Reputation & Media Relations
Lead external communication strategies that enhance corporate reputation and strengthen visibility of the company’s positive impact.
Develop and oversee communications for sustainability initiatives, CSR programs, corporate partnerships, customer partnerships, youth empowerment programs, community initiatives, and corporate events.
Manage proactive media outreach, press materials, media engagement, agency coordination, and external storytelling.
Oversee the development of press releases, media statements, speeches, talking points, briefing documents, Q&As, fact sheets, and external announcements.
Track and evaluate external communication performance, including media reach, quality of coverage, impressions, sentiment, and contribution to reputation measures.
Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
Lead the internal communications strategy to ensure employees receive consistent, timely, relevant, and engaging information.
Oversee internal campaigns that support business priorities, culture, employee engagement, change management, leadership visibility, ethics and compliance, wellbeing, safety, performance, and people programs.
Ensure communication reaches all employee segments, including headquarters employees, frontline teams, business developers, line operators, and field-based teams.
Drive employee engagement through targeted communication campaigns, two-way communication, storytelling, leadership posts, and platform activation.
Lead communication plans that support employee surveys, engagement initiatives, organizational feedback cycles, and action-planning communication.
Monitor internal communication effectiveness and continuously improve platforms, content, and channel usage based on data and employee feedback.
Sustainability, CSR & Partnership Communications
Lead communications that showcase the company’s sustainability agenda, community impact, youth empowerment programs, waste collection initiatives, customer sustainability partnerships, and social impact programs.
Partner with Corporate Affairs & Sustainability team members to translate program outcomes into compelling internal and external stories.
Support the communication and activation of partnerships with NGOs, ministries, customers, industry bodies, and community partners.
Ensure sustainability and CSR communications are credible, accurate, measurable, and aligned with corporate messaging.
Support the development of communication materials for stakeholder engagement, partnership announcements, impact stories, case studies, and campaign rollouts.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure communications, sponsorships, donations, events, partnerships, and external activations comply with company policies, approval processes, corporate affairs controls, anti-bribery requirements, data privacy standards, and relevant governance frameworks.
Maintain proper documentation, approvals, due diligence records, and audit readiness for sponsorships, donations, events, partnerships, and communication activities.
Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Compliance, Procurement, HR, and business functions to ensure communication-related activities follow required controls.
Lead awareness and alignment within the Corporate Affairs & Sustainability team on relevant policies, controls, and compliance requirements.
Support audits related to sponsorships, donations, anti-bribery, data privacy, code of business conduct, and corporate affairs controls.
Identify potential reputational, compliance, or communication risks and recommend mitigation actions.
Ensure sensitive communications are handled with appropriate confidentiality, accuracy, escalation, and approval.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead, guide, and develop the Communications Lead and other team members involved in communications, sponsorships, events, or related activities.
Set clear priorities, roles, responsibilities, and expectations for the communications team.
Provide coaching, feedback, empowerment, and decision-making support to accelerate team performance and ownership.
Build team capabilities in writing, planning, stakeholder management, platform management, measurement, compliance, and campaign execution.
Ensure smooth onboarding, structured handovers, and clear accountability for new team members.
Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and compliance-conscious team culture.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Corporate Affairs & Sustainability, Commercial, HR, Legal, Finance, Compliance, Supply Chain, and other functions to support business priorities through effective communication.
Provide communication guidance to functions on internal announcements, external visibility, employee engagement, change initiatives, and stakeholder messaging.
Facilitate alignment between internal teams, external agencies, vendors, partners, ministries, NGOs, and customers.
Support cross-functional initiatives by ensuring clear messaging, timely updates, and consistent execution across channels.
Key Performance Indicators
External media reach, quality of coverage, share of voice, sentiment, and contribution to corporate reputation.
Social media reach, engagement, posting consistency, follower growth, and campaign performance.
Employee engagement with internal communication platforms and content.
Internal platform performance, including unique users, reach, time spent, interaction, and adoption rates.
Participation rates in employee surveys, engagement campaigns, and key internal initiatives.
Successful communication delivery for strategic projects, leadership events, corporate events, and business milestones.
Successful rollout and adoption of communication tools and platforms.
Compliance audit results related to sponsorships, donations, events, data privacy, anti-bribery, and corporate affairs controls.
Zero major compliance observations or avoidable communication-related governance gaps.
Stakeholder satisfaction with communication support and advisory.
Team development, empowerment, and successful delivery through direct reports and cross-functional contributors.
ARE THESE YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS?
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field.
10–12 years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, external communications, public affairs, public relations, media relations, or corporate affairs.
Proven experience leading communication strategies in a corporate, multinational, or large organizational environment.
Strong experience managing internal and external communications across multiple audiences and channels.
Experience supporting senior leaders and advising business functions on communication strategy and messaging.
Experience managing media relations, social media, internal communication platforms, corporate campaigns, events, and stakeholder communications.
Strong understanding of governance, compliance, reputational risk, approvals, data privacy, anti-bribery controls, and corporate affairs processes.
Excellent command of English and Arabic, written and spoken.
