Procurement for the Real Estate Category plays a strategic leadership role, overseeing all procurement activities related to real estate assets and services. This position is responsible for driving cost efficiency, ensuring compliance, and aligning procurement strategies with the organization’s real estate and business objectives.
Our sourcing experts will focus on the strategic value-add, developing supplier partnerships and innovations with cutting edge expertise in more than 150 kinds of procurement categories.
Our regional teams will partner with our businesses to deliver on targets. Our goal as a business enabler is to make buying easy for all Schneider Electric employees.

What will you do?
Build strong business relationships with the plant management team.
Define and track the indirect procurement performance dashboard for the plant.
Sourcing Life cycle management and In-depth understanding of the sourcing life cycle for Internal needs analysis, Market analysis, Supplier’s qualification and classification, Supplier’s consultation and selection, Supply Qualification, Negotiation and contractual relationship management and Supplier Performance Management.
Develop, maintain, and administer procurement policy allowing for cultural and regional differences with cross-functional coordination as needed.
Monitor Indirect Procurement policy compliance and provide strategies to increase compliance.
Develop, implement and manage all vendor relationships and services ensuring compliance to service level agreements.
Monitor and report activities to ensure fulfilling service levels and take mitigation actions in case of non-fulfilment of agreements.
Strive towards continuous Indirect Procurement strategy alignment with the business, vendor improvement, and management of key category relationships.
Knowledge of India markets and leverages Sourcing methodologies to drive the category.
Responsible for end to end management of assigned manufacturing plant, including category sourcing, projects in the pipeline, procurement process and policies and managing the spend and savings targets for the plant spend.
Accountable for all indirect procurement categories spend & savings targets and objectives for assigned plant.
Act as local Business Partner and be the voice of business stakeholder's needs & requirements by understanding and relay business needs and requirements.
Facilitate to ensure balance between procurement strategies and operational realities to ensure the alignment of global procurement with the business strategies.
Provide outstanding services that meet stakeholders’ needs to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction.
Continuously develop and maintain services and solutions to generate value for the business.
Cost reduction in manufacturing by developing alternate vendors, and introducing new products that are aligned with the manufacturing process.
Supporting scrap management for the manufacturing plant.
Support issue resolutions.
Develop and implement category strategies for real estate procurement (leasing, construction, property management).
Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize supplier base.
Leads controls and drives improvement in the transactional buying processes for respective category areas in order to capitalize on opportunities, drive productivity, and deliver quality and service requirements for all business stakeholders.
Manages supplier relationships to encourage supplier innovation and maximize value contributions to Schneider Electric through effective sourcing and contracting processes. Responsible for leading discussions with critical suppliers around long-term objectives and strategies, ongoing market trends, innovation and technology advances, and potential investment decisions.
Constantly seeking out and reviewing industry and category specific best practices, processes and systems to leverage opportunities within the Schneider Electric network.
Works closely with business and functional leaders to establish and manage budgets for respective category areas. Incorporates contractual commitments, and industry and supply market trends to forecast variances and productivity commitment deliverables using a TCO methodology.
In depth understanding of the life cycle (R1-R12 responsibility matrix)
R1 - Internal needs analysis - Work with internal stake owners to define the needs in line with stake owners expectations.
R2 - Market analysis - Analyze market / suppliers / technology and offer the internal stake owners the best in class products, technology, service, price etc.
R3 - Supplier’s qualification and classification. - Introduce reputed and qualified suppliers to the company and follow company supplier classification guidelines. - Perform supplier due diligence to evaluate the potential, local presence.
R4 - Supplier’s consultation and selection. - Following supplier selection on select criteria’s defined with the internal stake owners on their needs, expectations and in line with market evolutions.
R5 - Supply Qualification - Work with internal stake owners to qualify supplies as per defined specifications and SLA needs.
R6 & R7 – Negotiation and contractual relationship management
R8 - Supplier Performance Management
R9 – R12 Purchase Order Placement ………..Payment
Bachelor's or Master’s degree with relevant experience of a minimum 8+ years in Real Estate Category Management. This role ensures cost efficiency, compliance, and value creation through strategic vendor management and market analysis.
