The Finance Accounting & Tax Senior Manager serves as a key member of the Korea Finance team, partnering with the Head of Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective financial operations.
This role is responsible for leading financial accounting and statutory reporting, tax compliance, payroll oversight, treasury and cash management, accounts payable operations, and finance risk management. The role also drives finance process improvements, supports global finance initiatives, and works closely with external advisors, outsourced service providers, and regional finance teams to strengthen operational excellence and maintain a robust financial control environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting and Reporting
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes for BCG Korea, including the review of compensation, operating expenses, and coordination with Global Services.
Oversee the preparation and review of statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with local accounting standards and reporting requirements.
Serve as the primary finance contact for external auditors on statutory audits and key accounting matters.
Lead the implementation of new and revised accounting standards and finance policies.
Oversee mobility accounting, including secondments, cross-office staffing, and cross-border accounting in accordance with global policies.
Review monthly general ledger reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial records.
Taxation
Oversee the preparation of corporate income tax returns and review monthly tax filings in collaboration with external tax advisors.
Lead transfer pricing documentation and tax compliance processes in partnership with PwC.
Ensure compliance with indirect tax regulations and statutory filing requirements.
Oversee expatriate tax matters, including coordination with EY and management of intercompany hypothetical tax processes.
Payroll
Oversee the monthly payroll process to ensure timely and accurate payroll execution.
Review payroll reconciliations and compensation-related accounting entries.
Ensure compliance with payroll taxes and statutory reporting requirements.
Treasury
Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and banking operations.
Manage relationships with transaction banks and the in-house bank (IHB) in collaboration with the Senior Accountant.
Act as the primary liaison with Global Treasury on cash management and treasury-related initiatives.
Risk Management
Serve as the finance lead for BCG Risk Management reviews and follow-up activities.
Oversee of all insurance related matters
AP and Outsourced Operations
Oversee accounts payable operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of supplier and employee payments.
Manage the relationship with outsourced service providers, including service governance, issue resolution, and performance management against agreed KPIs.
Review operational KPIs and error logs and drive continuous service improvements.
Ensure compliance with BCG policies and internal controls for vendor payments and employee expense reimbursements.
Support procurement governance, vendor onboarding, and risk assessments.
Approve invoices within delegated authority and review weekly payment runs.
System and process enhancements
Lead the local implementation of global finance initiatives, accounting system enhancements, and tax-related projects.
Identify and drive process improvement opportunities through automation, business intelligence, and digital technologies.
Leverage analytics and reporting tools to improve finance operations and decision-making.
Actively participate in regional and global finance transformation initiatives.
Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounting, preferably within a professional services environment
Strong knowledge of financial accounting, general ledger, month-end closing, and financial controls
Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or automation tools is a plus
Experience managing and developing team members
Good understanding of corporate tax, indirect tax, and regulatory compliance
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions
Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
