Location: Pisa

Role Description

The resource will be involved in FPGA design and verification activities, focusing on VHDL development for systems intended for satellite payloads or scientific instrumentation, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the System Engineer for the definition of FPGA requirements and specifications

• Design and develop HDL architectures for space applications

• Perform verification and validation activities of FPGA designs in simulation environments

• Manage synthesis and implementation processes on different FPGA devices, including timing analysis and adherence to design rules

• Perform hardware debugging activities

• Support functional and performance test campaigns up to the engineering model level

• Draft technical documentation compliant with ECSS standards

• Participate in design reviews with the client

Required Skills

• Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science

• Knowledge of HDL languages: VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog

• Experience with digital simulators (e.g., ModelSim, QuestaSim, Incisive NCSIM)

• Familiarity with synthesis and implementation tools (e.g., Synplify, Vivado)

• Knowledge of FPGA technologies, particularly Xilinx and Microchip

• Programming and scripting skills (Tcl, C/C++, Python)

• Use of electronic laboratory instruments

• Experience with Linux operating systems

• Use of version control systems (e.g., Git)
