Senior Backend Engineer

Role Summary

As a Backend Engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional squad responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services. You’ll contribute to building secure, high-performing applications while embracing modern engineering practices.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and maintain robust backend applications and services

• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with databases and messaging systems

• Write automated tests and support continuous delivery practices

• Collaborate with team members to define and deliver business-driven solutions

• Apply security best practices throughout the development lifecycle

• Contribute to code quality, technical discussions, and team knowledge sharing

• Stay updated with evolving technologies and engineering practices

Required Skills

We’re looking for individuals with a strong foundation in backend engineering and a collaborative mindset.

Must-have:

• 3+ years of experience in backend development

• Proficiency in Java (Java 8 or higher; Java 11+ preferred)

• Solid experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks

• Hands-on experience with RESTful API development

• Familiarity with Git or similar version control tools

• Experience in test automation (e.g., JUnit, Mockito)

• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals (OOP, design patterns, TDD)

• Effective communication skills and ability to work in global teams

Nice to have:

• Experience with SQL, JPA, or Hibernate

• Exposure to microservices architecture and containerization

• Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines

• Agile ways of working and adaptability to change
