Within the Operations & Supply Chain organizational unit of the Aircraft BU, we are looking for a Structural Assembly Methodologist/Technologist for the Venegono site. The figure operates within the Production Engineering with the objective of defining, developing, maintaining and improving work methods, operational cycles, assembly instructions, timing analyses and technical-production solutions necessary to ensure the correct execution of structural assembly activities of aeronautical assemblies, sub-assemblies and complete systems, in compliance with quality, time, cost, safety and process reliability objectives. The Methodologist/Technologist represents a technical reference point for Production, collaborating synergistically with the internal bodies involved and coordinating, when required, small groups of colleagues or work teams dedicated to specific analysis, standardization, improvement or problem-solving activities.
The resource will be involved in the following activities:
Define, draft, update and maintain the operational cycles of structural assembly and aircraft mounting, ensuring clarity of instructions, correct sequence of operations, consistency with applicable technical data and compliance with company standards;
Analyze structural assembly and aircraft mounting processes and contribute to the definition of the most suitable work methods, evaluating technical, production, logistical, ergonomic, quality and safety constraints;
Perform time analyses and timings, verifying the consistency between operational activities, assigned times, available resources, technical configuration and real working conditions;
Support the industrialization of the structural assembly process, contributing to the definition of assembly logics, operational sequences, workstations, production flows, requirements for equipment, jigs, tools, aids and means necessary for the execution of activities;
Provide technical support to Production, intervening in the resolution of operational, technical and methodological problems, clarifying the execution methods provided by the cycles and proposing solutions consistent with technical data and production needs;
Support the resolution of problems related to structural assembly and aircraft mounting activities, collaborating with the involved bodies to analyze critical issues regarding couplings, drilling, fastenings, tolerances, dimensional surveys, interferences and reworks, identifying the necessary corrective actions and updating, when required, methods, cycles and operational instructions;
Support the resolution of problems related to pre-flight, flight and post-flight activities, collaborating with the involved bodies to analyze the critical issues encountered, identify the necessary corrective actions and update, when required, methods, cycles and operational instructions;
Manage and maintain technical production documentation, ensuring alignment between drawings, bill of materials, operational instructions, work cycles, materials, equipment, structural specifications and quality requirements;
Participate in the management of technical changes, variants, non-conformities, reworks and extraordinary activities with an impact on structural assembly cycles, evaluating their effects on the production process and contributing to the definition of the most appropriate operational methods;
Collaborate with Design, Quality, Production, Logistics, Equipment, Planning and other company departments, fostering alignment between technical requirements, industrial needs and on-line applicability;
Contribute to the continuous improvement and standardization of work methods, proposing actions aimed at reducing inefficiencies, reworks, line stoppages, waste and operational criticalities;
Support start-up, ramp-up, transfer or revision activities of production processes, ensuring the necessary methodological and technological contribution in the phases of introduction or modification of the structural assembly process;
Operatively coordinate small work groups, when required, assigning technical priorities, monitoring the progress of activities, facilitating the sharing of information and ensuring compliance with assigned deadlines;
Monitor activities within one's competence, promptly reporting any technical, organizational or documentary critical issues and contributing to the definition of related recovery actions;
Apply the principles of World Class Manufacturing and Leonardo Production System in one's activities, maintaining an approach focused on collaboration, problem-solving, the quality of technical data and continuous support for Production.
Educational Qualification:
Technical degree, preferably in Aerospace, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
Required Experience Level:
Expert (preferably in Production Engineering, Time and Methods, industrialization, production technologies or technical support for structural assembly) Experience in structured companies that apply World Class Manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing principles or equivalent production systems is a preferential title.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of the aeronautical environment, its methodologies and main production processes;
Knowledge of aeronautical structural assembly processes, with reference to structural assemblies, sub-assemblies and complete systems;
Ability to read and interpret aeronautical technical drawings, tolerances, assembly specifications and dimensional requirements;
Knowledge of Time and Methods logics, industrialization, work cycles and tooling;
