We are hiring a Senior Operations Manager in Hungary.
This role is part of LEGO’s Electronics Manufacturing Category who manages EMS Suppliers, who builds Electronics Products that go into LEGO Products.
This role requires 3~4 days a week on supplier factory, which is approximately a one-hour drive from our Nyíregyháza manufacturing plant.
This role is not a People Leader role and no relocation support is offered.
Manage Assigned Electronics Manufacturing Suppliers (EMS) who manufacture LEGO’s Electronics Products. Key tasks include EMS Factory Performance, Capacity & Resource Management (Equipment capacity, Asset Tracking and management, Direct/Indirect labour etc), Budget and Asset Management.
The Operations Manager is supported by a cross functional team consisting of Process Engineering, Quality, Planner and Finance.
Manage the Production Assets to ensure that we have sufficient capacity during product life and dispose of Capex Equipment after useful life.
Budget Management for assigned EMS: Forecast, plan and execute a suitable budget to ensure smooth operations at the EMS factory, including Spare Parts, Maintenance, Repair, duplicate equipment etc.
Lead the Quarterly Business Review meeting with the EMS
Drive Operational Excellence at the EMS Factory with support of the EMS and LEGO teams.
With Supply Planning Team, ensure Supply of Products to LEGO per our requirements.
In Partnership with Process Engineering and the EMS, work to improve Manufacturing Performance via Line Balancing, Automation Projects, Factory Layout Reviews and Equipment Utilization, driving OEE and TEEP improvements.
Implement Product Change Requests and Product EOL planning
responsible for EMS Supplier’s Product Costing, validate and negotiate terms and Product Costing submitted by the EMS Suppliers.
Implement Manufacturing 4.0 initiatives at EMS suppliers to improve production efficiency and to drive Transparency, Flexibility and Cost.
with the support of LEGO Corporate teams, ensure that assigned supplier meet LEGO requirements in Responsible Business Practices, Partner Integrity and Confidentiality.
The Operations Manager may be assigned as a Supplier Key Account Manager (KAM).
as a KAM, he/she is responsible for the Commercial Relationship with the supplier and is the representative of The LEGO Group to the Supplier.

The Mission of Procurement is to ensure Global Supply Base Operational Excellence while complying to LEGO requirements.
This Role focuses on Managing the EMS who produces the Tech Component Elements (Electronics products) of LEGO. This includes Supplier Management, Managing the Product & Manufacturing Process at the EMS supplier jointly with LEGO Stakeholders and Implementation of Strategic Initiatives with the EMS.
This is a Individual Contributor role, not a People Manager.
The Incumbent is expected to be physically present at the External EMS Supplier’s factory at least 1-3 days a week.
The Incumbent may be called upon to take on Special Projects out of the normal scope of work and implement Strategic Initiatives.
Do you have what it takes?
Min 10 years’ total relevant working experience in:
Procurement in an EMS Environment, especially the management of a Box Build Assembly
Experience in SMT and Box Build Manufacturing Environment, Automation in Manufacturing, Line Balancing
EMS Supplier Management & Negotiations
Other Critical Skillsets:
Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related disciplines
Strong Negotiation, Communication and Influencing Skills
Relationship and Stakeholder Management
Strong Business Acumen and Strategic Skillsets.
Ability to lead a Mult-Functional team
A Self Starter with Initiative and ability to work independently
Familiar with New Product Introduction (NPI) procurement and Product Life Cycle Management activities
Strategic & Analytical thinking abilities
Proactive and collaborative
Nice to have:
ERP knowledge such as SAP and Oracle
Experience working with Teams in different Countries and Cultures
Proficient in the English Language
