About the role
As a Compliance & Legal Officer based in the Philippines, you will provide essential compliance and legal support across a range of matters, helping ensure Bureau Veritas maintains the highest standards of compliance and risk management. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to develop your career in compliance and legal advisory within a respected global organisation, with mentorship and hands-on experience across diverse compliance and legal functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Support: Assist in delivering compliance training and advice to internal teams and stakeholders
Compliance Programs: Support compliance initiatives rolled out by Head Office, including the Annual Compliance Declaration and related activities
Investigation & Ethics: Assist in investigating potential breaches of the Code of Ethics reported through whistleblowing systems and other channels; provide recommendations under supervision
Contract Support: Review and assist in negotiating client contracts to ensure alignment with Bureau Veritas principles and contracting standards
Corporate Governance: Support corporate governance activities, including maintaining registers and assisting Boards and Company Secretaries
Legal Assistance: Provide support across insurance, property, intellectual property, disputes, and compliance reporting matters
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent legal qualification
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Willingness to work hard and be flexible with timing and context
Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
0-2 years of experience in compliance, legal, or risk management (fresh graduates encouraged to apply)
Experience or exposure to contract review and negotiation
Familiarity with corporate governance or ethics frameworks
Knowledge of Philippine labor and business regulations
