We are seeking an experienced Lead Auditor specializing in social accountability and ethical audit standards for freelance, project-based engagements. This role involves conducting scheduled audit activities across infrastructure and industrial projects in AUSTRIA. The position offers flexibility with call-based collaboration aligned to our audit planning calendar.
Conduct comprehensive audits against SA8000 (Social Accountability 8000) and/or SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) standards
Lead audit teams through planning, execution, and reporting phases
Assess compliance with social accountability, labor practices, health & safety, environmental, and business ethics management systems
Evaluate worker conditions, labor rights, and ethical business practices across supply chains
Document findings with detailed audit reports, non-conformities, observations, and corrective action recommendations
Communicate results clearly to project management, procurement teams, and client stakeholders
Maintain audit documentation and ensure traceability of all audit activities
Provide technical guidance on social accountability best practices and ethical compliance requirements
Support continuous improvement initiatives based on audit outcomes
Conduct worker interviews and site inspections to verify compliance
