Senior Group Director, High-End Sales & Distribution - WFJ

About the role: CHANEL is seeking a Senior Group Director, High-End Sales & Distribution for Watches & Fine Jewelry (WFJ) Division, based in New York. This role is responsible for defining and executing the commercial strategy for High Jewelry and High Watchmaking across the US, driving business growth while elevating CHANEL's position in the high-end luxury market.
This role will also build and develop a high-performing team of High-End sales experts while partnering across Retail, Merchandising, Marketing, Client, Education, Fashion, and Global WFJ to deliver a seamless "One Brand" strategy and exceptional client experience.
What impact you can create at CHANEL:
Design & implement the sales and distribution strategy of HIGH-END (High Jewelry & High watchmaking) in the US
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute long-term strategies for high jewelry and high watchmaking. Define clear KPIs to guide execution and measure performance.
Sales & Business Development: Drive revenue through private in-store appointments and high-profile client events. Set and track sales targets by channel and product category.
Business Analysis & Reporting: Provide data analysis and business reporting, along with strategic recommendations to maximize sales and profitability. Contribute to monthly business reviews for the US President and Management Committee, highlighting performance, gaps, and opportunities.
Team Development: Lead and coach a community of experts with deep knowledge of gemstones and storytelling. Develop the existing team and recruit high-end sales talent, internally or externally, while identifying high potential internal talent. Implement structured assessments and create clear career pathways into High-End roles.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the US WFJ departments (Merchandising, Marketing, Client, Education), US Fashion and Global WFJ teams to ensure all actions align with the specific needs of the regional markets and optimize the "one brand" strategy. This includes the high jewelry & high watchmaking assortment, events plan, client engagement plan, and education touchpoints.

Experience managing multiple distribution channels and understanding their dynamics, including retail, lease, fashion retail, and multi-brand retailers
Strong understanding of the diversity and nuances of the US market and clientele
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Experience in watches, precious jewelry, and high jewelry
Strong organizational and presentation skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong strategic vision and business acumen
Position Logistics:
Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at the designated location/office.
10–15+ years of progressive leadership in luxury retail or high-value asset transactions.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or design-related field
Deep knowledge of gemology, jewelry manufacturing, and historical provenance
Proficiency in managing budgets, financial forecasting, and P&L for high-margin categories.
Established global network of UHNW collectors, dealers, and industry stakeholders
NY office-based role
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business requires
