Title and Summary
Manager, Product & Solutions, Digital Payments, Japan
Overview This position is responsible for driving the adoption and expansion of digital payment solutions across Japan. Working closely with the Japan Digital Lead, the role partners with cross-functional teams across Japan and Asia Pacific (e.g., Singapore) to articulate product value, influence stakeholders, and accelerate client readiness for implementation. It plays a critical role in driving adoption, enabling successful delivery, and bridging product, client, and regional stakeholders. Primary focus areas include Tokenization (MDES across all use cases, including device tokenization, Click to Pay, and Secure Card on File) and Authentication solutions. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of product, technology, and client delivery.
Role & Responsibility
Drive the adoption and enablement of Tokenization and Authentication solutions by articulating value propositions, influencing stakeholders, and accelerating client readiness for implementation
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing guidance on product capabilities, rules, and technical specifications throughout the solution lifecycle
Work with clients and internal stakeholders to remove adoption barriers and drive actions toward successful implementation
Engage with Japan and APAC teams (especially Singapore) to align stakeholders, resolve issues, and accelerate rollout progress
Support go-live readiness and post-launch stabilization from a product and solution perspective
Serve as a key contact for internal and external inquiries on product rules, implementation, and technical topics
Investigate client issues, including root cause analysis and resolution support
Provide best practice recommendations and guidance on solution design
Translate technical and rule-based concepts into clear, actionable insights
Collaborate with APAC teams to align on product rollout and expansion, issue resolution, and policy updates
Partner with Account Management, Sales, Product, and Technology teams to support client engagements
Ensure effective communication and alignment across internal and external stakeholders
Support initiatives to increase adoption and usage of Tokenization and Authentication solutions in Japan
Contribute to improving customer experience and simplifying implementation processes
Build trusted relationships with key clients and act as a reliable product advisor
Collect and analyze client and market feedback related to product usability and implementation
Identify gaps between product capabilities and market needs
Provide structured insights to regional and global product teams to support product enhancement and localization
All about you Required
5+ years of experience in payments, fintech, or financial services (Issuer, Acquirer, PSP, or Card network experience preferred)
Strong understanding of:
Ability to interpret technical documentation, product specifications, and rules accurately
Ability to articulate product value and connect it with client needs and market requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working in cross-functional and matrix organizations
Business-level proficiency in English for regional collaboration
Native or business-level Japanese
Preferred
Hands-on experience with tokenization (device, COF) and authentication solutions
Familiarity with APIs, system integration, or PSP/payment gateway architectures
Experience in implementation, client onboarding, or technical support roles
Experience working with card schemes (e.g., Mastercard, Visa, JCB)
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
