Design and develop mechanical components for power and distribution transformers
Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models aligned with specifications
Perform calculations for strength, vibration, thermal expansion, and structural integrity
Partner with electrical engineers to deliver optimized, integrated designs
Support manufacturing teams with technical guidance and design improvements
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and FMEA activities
Collaborate with suppliers on material selection and component validation
Contribute to testing, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvement
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in transformers or heavy equipment
Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and mechanical design principles
Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, or Inventor
Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, CSA)
Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving and attention to detail
