Within the activities of the Quantum Technologies, Optronics & Materials Laboratories group, we are looking for a Researcher in the field of optical materials and characterization of integrated photonic circuits, for our office in Campi Bisenzio (FI).
Master's/Specialist degree in Physics, Physical Engineering, Materials Science and Technology, or related disciplines. A Ph.D. is considered a plus.
Seniority:
Expert (3 - 5 years of experience).
Experience with optical and RF laboratory instrumentation, including Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), Oscilloscope, FTIR Spectrometer, Optical Spectrum Analyzers, Power meter, Signal generators for device characterization;
Practical experience with optical bench experiments, including optical alignment, free-space optics, fiber coupling, use of precision positioning stages, and opto-mechanical components;
Experience in experimental characterization of optical materials and photonic devices, including transmission, loss, and spectrum measurements for integrated photonics and optical coatings;
Practical experience with electronic and RF interfaces for photonic devices, electrical driving, and integration with laboratory instrumentation;
Ability to use scientific programming tools (such as Python or MATLAB) for measurement automation, analysis, processing, and data visualization;
Experience with optical fiber manipulation, sample preparation, and troubleshooting experimental problems in photonics and optoelectronics laboratories;
Experience in nanofabrication of photonic components in a cleanroom is a plus.
