GVP, Organic Growth
This leadership role is responsible for deepening and evolving our content offerings and driving Organic traffic growth across the Gartner Digital Markets portfolio, which include the Capterra, Software Advice, GetApp and UpCity brands. Successful candidates will have a passion for serving small to medium size business customers globally, interest in technology and how it impacts business success, expertise in creating high-quality digital content at scale, expert technical SEO experience, proven success in developing strategy for B2B and content-intensive brands, and strong general management acumen.
This role will develop a global, multi-platform SEO & content strategy that leverages core Gartner assets and ensures audience engagement and value to small to medium size business buyers. The Head of Organic Growth will be responsible for executing the content and SEO strategy across a portfolio of buyer brands, a mix of content and media types, and a global network of .com and country level domains. Additionally, this leader will work to build the GDM and buyer brands by promoting this content through tier 1 media outlets and social channels. This leader will manage a globally distributed team.
Collaborate with GDM leaders to develop SEO strategies based on business goals, aligning each program with a broader SEO strategy and the GDM keyword ecosystem.
Implement SEO strategies to increase traffic to buyer sites (Capterra, GetApp, Software Advice, UpCity) through on-page techniques such as title and meta-tagging, indexing, keyword ranking overall site architecture and off-page techniques (link building, backlink profile, etc.) to get exposure while building trust and authority for our content.
Ensure that our sites deliver a user experience that provides differentiated value to buyers and demonstrate our Expertise, Authority & Trust.
Partner with Product & Engineering leaders on prioritizing Technical SEO improvements.
Monitor and analyze site performance and review tracking metrics to provide solutions to increase search engine ranking.
Drive Gartner’s SERP placement and traffic growth with strategic and operational excellence.
Ensure Content and Marketing teams are aligned on an editorial plan that meets both our audience needs and ensures effective promotability to local or global media.
Support acquisition of quality traffic by ensuring tests and recommendations don’t negatively impact Vendor Conversion Rate (vCVR) or Qualification Rate metrics.
Identify and implement marketing initiatives with local and global stakeholders to increase brand awareness and traffic to our sites.
Research and evaluate new traffic trends and identify new optimization opportunities. Assess search outcomes related to sites or advertising/marketing campaigns.
Conduct analysis for program effectiveness and uses the findings for market site enhancements and to leverage optimization of all programs.
Hire, develop, and retain top talent. Manage a positive group dynamic to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment on and First Team behavior.
Architect a content strategy, within and across brands, that increases user engagement, brand awareness, and brand/site differentiation for our global and local sites.
Ensure that GDM editorial content is a core part of the buyer/user experience and journey on our global and local sites.
Champion, coach and ensure the on-time creation and delivery of high-quality and engaging multi-media content to ensure we meet the needs of our target audiences (small businesses and software vendors).
Identify opportunities to generate unique content leveraging our proprietary data and more than 2 million user reviews.
Drive publication of insightful thought leadership content based on Gartner proprietary primary data.
Ensure that our content has unassailable independence, integrity and objectivity; leveraging and sharing best practices and approaches with Gartner Enterprise Content, where feasible.
Continue to evolve and improve our branded content so that it becomes the leading branded content for small to medium size business buyers and indispensable for software vendors.
Formulate and execute change initiatives that will keep our teams, systems, and content on the leading edge.
Ensure that the business is fully leveraging core Gartner R&A content, data sources, and methodologies within established guidelines.
15 years of sales & marketing experience, technical SEO, content creation and product marketing experience.
Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics/Tag Manager, BrightEdge, DeepCrawl and Majestic.
Knowledge and proven experience with International SEO
BA in Business, Marketing or equivalent work experience, MBA degree preferred.
Extensive experience in strategy formulation, business planning and strategy execution
Ability to synthesize complex ideas into simple, concise value statements and core messages to drive increased revenue and increased market awareness.
Comprehensive understanding of competitive markets and how to build/maintain marketing strategies to reach target markets.
Expertise to create and execute a strategic communications plan for various stakeholders / audiences.
Strategic leadership skills; ability to craft and articulate a clear, consistent vision and implement effective operating plans
Demonstrated ability to create quantitative based business analysis and develop clear business strategies.
Experience collaborating with technology teams and working across functional units.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 240,000 USD - 315,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
