Quality Engineer, Supplier Development
The Quality Engineer, Supplier Development plays a key role in strengthening supplier quality performance and manufacturing capability across Southeast Asia.
In this role, you will work closely with suppliers and cross-functional partners to lead audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Through strong technical expertise, structured problem-solving, and collaboration, you will support consistent product quality, reliable delivery, and readiness for new product introduction.
Lead supplier development initiatives to improve product quality, delivery reliability, and manufacturing capability.
Plan and conduct supplier assessments and on-site QMS / process audits based on risk and performance.
Evaluate supplier capability across processes such as assembly, machining, welding, composites, heat treatment, painting, and surface treatment.
Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) from root cause analysis through closure and effectiveness verification.
Coach suppliers on structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, DMAIC, A3, 5-Why).
Support supplier readiness for new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up.
Collaborate with Sourcing, Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to manage supplier quality risks across the region.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
3–5+ years of professional experience in manufacturing quality, supplier quality, supplier development, or QMS audit roles within production environments.
Demonstrated experience owning supplier-facing quality activities, including audits, corrective actions, and on-site execution.
Proven capability to lead or support process and QMS audits and manage findings through closure.
Auditor certification (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, IATF 16949, and/or VDA 6.3) is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience in at least one core manufacturing process: assembly, carbon composites, welding, machining, heat treatment, painting, or surface treatment.
Practical application of structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, A3, 5-Why) with validated root cause and recurrence prevention.
Strong execution discipline with consistent follow-through, milestone tracking, and accountability.
Ability to influence suppliers through data, standards, and transparent communication.
Strong Gemba mindset with attention to detail and risk identification.
Professional working proficiency in Vietnamese and English, with spoken Chinese required.
Experience working with suppliers across China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.
Exposure to NPI, supplier localization, or production transfer activities preferred.
Experience with metrology, fixture/jig validation, IE tools (VSM, SMED), or manufacturing cost and yield analysis preferred.
