Job Title: Manager, Product Management – API & Financial Reporting Overview: The Services team and solutions fuel growth for partners globally by providing cutting-edge capabilities in the areas of Customer Acquisition and Engagement, Security Solutions, Business and Market Insights, and Open Banking. Mastercard Services' Operational Intelligence (OI) team delivers critical financial reporting and analytics infrastructure to issuers, acquirers, and processors across the global payments ecosystem — including settlement, interchange, compliance, and operational reporting products, We are seeking a Manager, Product Management – API & Financial Reporting to own the strategy, design, and delivery of API-based access to OI's reporting and data capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of financial domain expertise and modern API product management — responsible for how clients and internal platforms consume OI data, how reporting capabilities are exposed through programmatic interfaces, and how the API surface evolves as underlying platforms like IDS mature and replace legacy reporting systems. Responsibilities: API Product Strategy & Roadmap
Own and drive the multi-year API product roadmap for OR financial reporting capabilities, aligned to platform evolution including transitions from legacy reporting systems (e.g., GCMS-based reports) to next-generation platforms such as IDS
Define the API strategy for how reporting data — interchange, settlement, compliance, exception, and operational reports — is surfaced to issuers, acquirers, processors, and enterprise clients through programmatic interfaces
Assess build/extend/deprecate decisions for API capabilities in the context of platform migrations, market changes, and client adoption timelines
Monitor industry trends in financial data APIs, open banking standards, and payments infrastructure to continuously evolve the product direction
Build and maintain business cases for API investments including opportunity sizing, adoption projections, and revenue impact analysis
API Design & Product Definition
Define API product specifications including endpoint design, data schemas, request/response contracts, error handling standards, authentication models, and rate limiting policies
Author comprehensive BRDs and PRDs for API features, capturing business context, integration requirements, data flows, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams
Own versioning strategy and backward compatibility policies; define clear deprecation timelines and migration paths for clients on legacy API versions
Partner with engineering on sandbox environments, developer documentation, API gateway configuration, and integration testing support
Ensure API design reflects the data sensitivity, auditability, and compliance requirements inherent to financial reporting in a regulated payments environment Execution & Delivery
Translate product requirements into execution-ready user stories, EPICs, and acceptance criteria; lead backlog management and sprint coordination with engineering and QA teams
Define and track API product KPIs: adoption rates, integration success rates, API uptime and latency SLAs, error rates, client satisfaction, and migration completion
Oversee product delivery within budget, scope, and timeline; proactively manage risks, dependencies, and cross-team blockers
Ensure all API products meet enterprise standards for security, data governance, financial controls, and regulatory compliance Stakeholder Collaboration
Serve as the primary product interface between OI engineering, data, commercial, legal, compliance, and finance stakeholders for API-related decisions
Communicate product priorities, trade-offs, and roadmap progress clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences including senior leadership
Collaborate with platform teams on dependencies between API products and underlying data infrastructure, reporting pipelines, and platform migrations
Support go-to-market activities including pricing inputs, sales enablement materials, and client-facing product documentation Qualifications:
Minimum 6 years of experience in Product Management within a technology-driven environment, with demonstrated ownership of API products, data products, or platform integrations
Hands-on experience defining API specifications, data contracts, versioning strategies, and developer-facing documentation
Strong understanding of financial reporting, interchange, settlement, or payments operations — either from a product, operations, or technical perspective
Proven ability to manage complex client migration programs including stakeholder communication, timeline management, and impact analysis
Experience authoring BRDs, PRDs, and functional specifications for engineering teams in an agile delivery environment
Strong analytical mindset; comfortable using API telemetry, usage data, and client feedback to drive prioritization and product decisions
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholder groups and drive alignment through clear communication and structured trade-off framing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present product decisions confidently to senior leadership and directly to clients
Background in fintech, payments, banking, or regulated financial environments strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Finance, Engineering, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree is a plus
Experience with enterprise-grade, compliance-sensitive, or audit-driven systems is strongly preferred Preferred Technical Exposure:
Proficiency with API design and documentation tools such as OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman, or API gateway platforms
Familiarity with data interchange formats, financial message standards, and reporting schemas used in payments (ISO 8583, ISO 20022, or similar)
Working knowledge of event-driven architectures, batch-to-online delivery patterns, and financial data pipelines
Exposure to AI/ML or agentic capabilities as a complement to API-delivered reporting intelligence is a plus
Familiarity with cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure), developer portals, and API lifecycle management tooling
Basic SQL or data querying ability for product analytics and requirement validation
