Aon is seeking a highly motivated and commercially driven Cyber Insurance Broker / Cyber Risk Advisor to join our growing Cyber Solutions practice. This role combines expertise in cybersecurity, risk management, insurance, and business development. The successful candidate will advise clients on cyber risk exposures, translate technical vulnerabilities into business and insurance implications, design cyber insurance strategies, and drive revenue growth through proactive client acquisition and relationship management. The role also involves partnering with organizations to strengthen their cyber resilience while securing optimal insurance solutions for evolving cyber threats.
Generate new business through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, and market engagement.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives, Risk Managers, CISOs, CIOs, and other key stakeholders.
Lead client meetings, presentations, renewal discussions, and sales strategies.
Build and manage a robust sales pipeline while achieving revenue, retention, and growth targets.
Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing client relationships.
Assess clients’ cyber risk profiles, including data privacy exposure, business interruption risks, and technology dependencies.
Translate technical cybersecurity information into clear business risk narratives for clients and insurance underwriters.
Advise clients on appropriate cyber insurance coverage structures, limits, retentions, and policy wording.
Support clients during cyber incidents and insurance claims, coordinating with insurers, incident response firms, and internal stakeholders.
Provide guidance on risk transfer strategies and cyber resilience initiatives.
Structure and market cyber insurance programs.
Prepare submissions and documentation for insurers and negotiate optimal terms and pricing.
Evaluate and compare insurance proposals, coverage options, and policy conditions.
Stay informed on cyber insurance products, emerging cyber threats, carrier capabilities, and market trends.
Partner with broking, analytics, claims, legal, and risk advisory teams to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
Provide internal education and guidance on cyber risks and cyber insurance coverages.
Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including client alerts, webinars, presentations, and industry events.
Support the continued growth and market positioning of Aon’s Cyber Solutions practice.
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Systems, Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
Experience interacting directly with senior business leaders and clients.
Strong business acumen and ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
Advanced degree or postgraduate studies in a related field.
Experience working with multinational organizations and complex risk environments.
Fluency in English and Spanish; Portuguese is highly desirable.
Demonstrated success in business development and revenue generation.
Candidates should possess strong knowledge of:
Cyber threats and attack vectors, including ransomware, phishing, business email compromise, supply chain attacks, and DDoS attacks.
Network security, endpoint protection, identity and access management, vulnerability management, incident response, disaster recovery, and cloud security concepts.
Cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
Cyber insurance products, policy structures, exclusions, endorsements, and market practices.
Cyber risk transfer strategies and insurance coverage solutions.
Strong consultative and client-focused approach.
Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to simplify complex technical topics for business audiences.
Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a results-oriented approach.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative team player capable of working across technical, legal, financial, and risk disciplines.
