Wegh Group spa is looking for a Sales Engineer - Technical Sales for its Railway Armament Business Unit – Calcinate (BG).
Job Description: The Technical Sales person at Wegh is responsible for business development through technical-commercial client management, offer preparation, and technical consulting on company products/services.
The selected candidate will undergo a period of technical training within the BU's UT for at least one year, during which they will be trained on:
Detailed product knowledge, including all technical aspects that make its use advantageous;
Innovation studies for product lines, evaluating performance and critical issues;
Proficiency in product-related regulations;
Development of new products and improvement of existing ones;
The market in which the Company operates, i.e., competitors and existing and/or potential clients for strategic purposes.
Subsequently, they will specialize in sales with the primary goal of offering the Division's products to clients and ensuring a technically efficient response to client needs, finalizing contract agreements. The products of this BU are innovative ballastless railway armament systems, platforms for bridges and viaducts, etc., for the railway/metro/tram sector. We cover everything from design to manufacturing, installation, and maintenance.
Activities
Manage and develop the client portfolio, identifying new commercial opportunities and evaluating the reference market.
Conduct visits to clients and potential clients to present products and solutions.
Prepare commercial offers, quotes, and contracts, negotiating economic and technical conditions.
Collaborate with the Marketing function for participation in industry fairs or to increase brand visibility.
Design and implement technical presentations related to the product (Public technical speech).
Provide technical advice to clients on the company's products and services, analyze client needs, and propose appropriate technical solutions.
Collaborate with the Technical Office for defining specifications, customizations, and feasibility.
Technical Troubleshooting: be able to address and evaluate technical problems, proposing solutions to the Technical Office and drafting thorough and complete Technical Reports; identify necessary technical modifications or implementations to meet client needs.
Enter and update commercial opportunities in the company CRM.
Monitor the progress of offers and negotiations, reporting KPIs and forecasts to the Manager. Constant interaction with the commercial office for quoting.
Coordinate activities and information among clients, production, quality, and logistics.
Ensure compliance with company standards, commercial policies, and margins.
Be able to critically analyze similar products developed by competitors to strengthen Wegh's product technology and make them increasingly competitive in global markets.
Provide visibility of competitors' actions in various commercial areas.
Report to the RBU on product line innovations, evaluating performance and critical issues.
Have mastery of product-related regulations.
Know the product in detail and propose it to the client, highlighting all technical aspects that, in that particular environmental context, make its use advantageous.
Required Professional Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Reporting to: Head of Railway Armament Business Unit
Collaborates with: Back office commercial, technical office, and export managers
Coordinates: Nobody
Language Skills: Essential excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken, which will be tested during the interview (will need to give public speeches in the language). Essential knowledge of French, minimum B2 level (will need to give public speeches in the language). Knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese will be considered a plus.
Education: Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Technical/IT Skills:
Good knowledge of IT systems such as: Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, and Internet Explorer;
Technical knowledge of the company's products/services (prefabrication, civil works in the railway sector);
Reading of technical drawings, product sheets, and specifications;
Mastery of commercial logic (pricing, margins, offers);
Use of CRM and digital tools for client management.

Workplace: Calcinate (Bergamo) Working hours: Full time 8:30 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 17:30 % international / Italian travel: After the first year in UT, our technical sales representatives travel up to 40% of the time. This is a very dynamic role and inherently involves frequent travel, worldwide.
Salary: 38,000 - 55,000 based on actual experience, language skills, and sector expertise. A variable plan is also provided.
