Dually reporting to the Collaborating Physician and the Administrative Director, the licensed and credentialed Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow-up under the direction of one or more physicians in the clinic or inpatient setting. The NP performs age and specialty appropriate physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines. As an expert professional, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative, acute care through discharge. Will help support the oversight of students.
Electrophysiology (EP) Program

Location: Boston Medical Center – Brighton (with travel to affiliated outpatient clinics)
Schedule: Full-Time
Boston Medical Center Brighton is seeking a motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Electrophysiology (EP) Program within Cardiovascular Medicine. This newly created position will support EP clinic operations, device management, patient follow-up care, and procedural services as we continue to expand electrophysiology services and increase patient access. The NP will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care.
Clinical Practice
Provide direct patient care, counseling, and education in accordance with established collaborative practice protocols.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and health histories.
Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic testing.
Develop and implement treatment plans and appropriate follow-up care.
Document patient encounters and clinical findings in the electronic medical record.
Collaborate with electrophysiologists and multidisciplinary care teams regarding patient management.
Provide patient education focused on disease prevention, health maintenance, and treatment adherence.
Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Participate in consultations and specialty referrals as indicated.
Assist with EP clinic operations, pacemaker and device management, and follow-up care.
Professional Development
Assist in the development and revision of clinical guidelines, policies, and protocols.
Demonstrate leadership and effective problem-solving within the clinical environment.
Maintain current knowledge of regulations and standards impacting advanced practice providers.
Participate in departmental and organizational committees as appropriate.
Contribute to staff, patient, and community education initiatives.
Participate in quality improvement activities within the Cardiovascular Medicine service.
Identify opportunities for care improvement and support implementation efforts.
Incorporate evidence-based practice and research findings into patient care.
Education
Licensure & Certifications
Current Massachusetts RN license.
Current Massachusetts APRN license.
National Nurse Practitioner Board Certification.
Massachusetts and DEA prescriptive authority.
Current BLS certification.
ACLS certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
Prior experience in Electrophysiology, Cardiology, Device Clinic, or Cath Lab settings.
Experience with minor cardiology procedures including:
Experience interpreting ECGs, ambulatory cardiac monitoring, and cardiac arrhythmias.
Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system.
CEPS (Certified Electrophysiology Specialist) certification preferred.
Previous advanced practice experience in cardiovascular medicine strongly preferred.
Strong clinical judgment and independent decision-making skills.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and clinical documentation.
Additional Information
Travel to affiliated outpatient clinics is required.
This position supports the continued growth of BMC Brighton's Electrophysiology program and expansion of cardiovascular services.
Compensation Range: $109,000.00- $158,000.00 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
