Job Summary

The Renewable Energy Expert APA serves as the primary technical, strategic, and commercial advisor driving the development, evaluation, and execution of Renewable energy projects across APA region.

This position is sharing role between Asia Pacific and Global Role for Solar. The candidate will be based in Southeast Asia.

Time allocation will be 50% for Southeast Asia, 20% for rest of Asia Pacific countries and 30% for Global role.

Reporting line will be solid line to Senior VP Asia Pacific and dotted line to Global Renewable Advisory & Engineering (RAE) Leader and Southeast Asia Industry Director

Key Responsibilities

Cross-Functional Renewable Business Development Collaboration

• Partner with in-country BD teams: serve as the core technical co-pilot to country BD managers across Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippine, Singapore, Brunei) and broader APA during early-stage deal screening and client pitches

• Proposal & RFP Co-Development: coordinate directly with country BD leads and technical proposal leaders to prepare technical documentation and methodology as well as providing inputs for tenders and RFPs

• Customer engagement: participate in high level commercial and technical discussions with customers

Operation Integration

• Bridge BD to Operations: supporting in-country BD team for a seamless technical handover of key won projects from BD development stage to in-country operation and execution teams

• Operation handover efficiency: zero major technical discrepancies during transition from BD to operations

• Project execution and QA/QC oversight: provide technical support to in-country project execution team during project execution duration as required

• OPEX: providing technical support to in-country BD and operation team on OPEX related matters

Global Technical Alignment & Technology Transfer

• Global coordination: Function as the primary regional interface with global technical advisory and engineering team, ensuring regional projects align with global technical governance standards.

• Technology Transfer: adapt global technical frameworks (e.g. Solar (ground mounted and floating), BESS) to local Southeast Asia environmental and regulatory context

• Feedback loop: channel regional market intelligence, renewable including grid constraint data, and tropical learnings back to global engineering team to improve global reference engineering

Required Qualifications

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, or related field

Professional Experience and technical competency

• 15 years of working experience in projects and/or engineering for Renewable industry

• Deep understanding of:

  • Energy market dynamics
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Renewable energy technologies
  • Grid infrastructure solutions
